These terms apply to orders placed directly with Cerulean Press, including orders quoted and invoiced by email. Orders placed through Etsy are covered by the Etsy shop policies. Please read these terms before you place an order. The terms in force on the date we accept your order apply to that order, and we will not change them for an order already accepted.
These terms are written for customers buying as consumers. If you are ordering for a business, please tell us, as some consumer rights described below will not apply.
We will give you a written quote based on the items, quantities and details you request. Quotes are valid for 30 days. Your order is accepted when you confirm the quote in writing (for example by replying to our email) and pay the invoice or deposit. By doing so you confirm that you have read and agree to these terms.
All prices are in pounds sterling. Your quote shows the total price, including design, printing, any extras and delivery.
We accept payment by PayPal or bank transfer. We do not see your payment or bank details.
Small orders (under £600): payment in full is due before we begin the design process.
Larger orders (over £600): we require a 50% deposit to cover the cost of materials and design time, and the remaining balance must be paid before dispatch. We will not dispatch your order until the balance is paid.
Your right to cancel. Most online purchases come with a 14-day right to cancel. This right does not apply to goods that are made to your specification or clearly personalised. All of our stationery is made to order and personalised for you, so you do not have a statutory right to cancel once your order is placed. The cancellation terms below are our own policy and apply instead.
Orders under £600:
If we have not yet begun your artwork, you may cancel for a full refund.
If you have received a proof but production has not begun, we will refund 50% of the order value.
Once production has begun, we cannot offer a refund.
Orders over £600:
The 50% deposit is non-refundable. It covers materials already ordered and design time already spent.
If you cancel after the proof stage, we may also charge for work and materials already incurred beyond the deposit, up to the full order value once printing has begun, because the items are made specifically for you.
Nothing in this section affects your legal rights if goods are faulty, damaged or not as described (see section 10).
Once we have received your deposit (or payment) and your order details, we aim to send your design proof within three working days. Proofs are sent as a PDF by email unless you ask for another format.
Your price includes three rounds of revisions to your proof. Further rounds are charged at £15 each. Before printing, we will send a final proof for your sign-off.
Please check carefully, ideally on paper and with a second pair of eyes:
All the stationery items you ordered are included and quantities are correct
Colours are as you want them (see section 7)
Text spacing and alignment
Dates, names, titles, addresses, email and web addresses and phone numbers
All spelling and punctuation
Once you approve the proof for printing, you are responsible for its content. We are not responsible for errors you have approved, and we cannot refund or reprint those at our cost. Replacements would be charged in full. This does not apply if the printed item differs from the proof you approved.
If you provide wording, logos, images or other material, you confirm that you have the right to use them and that they do not infringe anyone else's rights. Unless you tell us otherwise before production, we may photograph finished work and show it in our portfolio, website and social media, without your personal details beyond what appears in the design (please tell us if you would like names or details kept out).
Letterpress is a craft, and slight variations and irregularities are normal and part of its character. They are not faults.
Colours on your screen or home printer can differ from the printed result. Our inks are hand-mixed for each order, so some variation can occur, particularly if items are ordered at different times (for example, save the dates before invitations). If exact colour matching across items matters to you, please order everything together. We will try to match a Pantone reference if you provide one, and can send a sample in a specific colour on request.
Large solid areas of colour print differently from offset or digital printing. The paper shows through, giving a slightly textured look, which is more noticeable with dark colours.
We aim to ship your finished stationery within three weeks of final proof approval and will tell you promptly if this changes. If you need your order by a particular date, such as a wedding or event, tell us before ordering so we can agree a delivery date in writing. Rush production may be possible; please ask.

Personalised note cards and thank-you cards: Royal Mail Tracked 24 shipping within the UK; international airmail elsewhere.
Wedding invitations: express shipping with tracking; we will send you the tracking number.
Upgrades: tracked or express shipping is available on request.
International estimates (Royal Mail): Western Europe about 3 working days; rest of the world 5–7 working days. These are a guide only.
Outside the UK, you may be responsible for customs fees or import duties charged by your country. Please check these before ordering.
Your order remains at our risk until it is delivered to you. If it is lost or damaged in transit, please contact us and we will resolve it with you directly.
We are committed to producing high-quality products. Your goods will be of satisfactory quality, will match the proof you approved, and will be made with reasonable care and skill. Nothing in these terms limits your legal rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
If your stationery arrives damaged, or does not match the approved proof, please contact us as soon as possible, ideally within 7 days of delivery, with photos. We will offer to remake the affected items at no cost to you, or refund you where a remake is not possible or appropriate. This does not affect any statutory right to a repair, replacement or refund.
All artwork, designs and photographs created by Cerulean Press are our copyright and may not be reproduced without our written permission. You may use the printed stationery you have bought for its intended purpose. Improper or illegal use of our designs will be pursued.
If you are unhappy for any reason, please contact us first at cayce@ceruleanpress.com and we will do our best to resolve it promptly.
We use your details only to deal with your order, and in line with our Privacy Policy. We do not share your data except as needed to fulfil your order, such as courier details.
We are not liable for delay or failure caused by events outside our reasonable control, such as supplier or materials shortages, illness or severe weather. We will keep you updated and agree a revised timescale or cancellation with a fair refund if the delay is significant.
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you may also bring claims in your local courts. If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect.
